My passion for home cooking and food started from a young age. Being a farmer’s daughter from Stalbridge, Dorset lead me on the journey of understanding Agriculture, food production & seasonality.
With Agriculture and food being a large focus of my family life, this led me to study Food Retail Management at Harper Adams University. My university degree covered all aspects of the food supply chain, the section that fascinated me the most was food manufacturing.
After graduating I was fortunate enough to work in Technical Management roles within large food manufactures supplying a wide range of products to the largest UK Retailers. These roles focused around procurement, process manufacturing but most importantly food quality and food safety.
I have always been a passionate, creative home cook. After having our first child I re-evaluated my work/ home life balance, following a boxed-up dream to set up my own food business. Which is where Victoria O’Brien Ltd all started.
In 2018 I left my job as a Factory Technical Manager to work alongside Southfields Family Ltd, a catering company with 30 years’ experience in events and wedding catering in Dorset, Somerset & Wiltshire. I have spent the last year working alongside Mandy the current business owner, learning from her vast knowledge and experience.
From January 2019 Victoria O’Brien’s Ltd will succeed Southfields Family Ltd. Based on the outskirts of Wincanton, Somerset with a fully equipped industrial kitchen. We have the ability to cater for large numbers, sourcing, creating and innovating, fresh dishes using locally sourced ingredients. We also supply a number of local farm shops, pubs, butchers and retailers with delicious homecooked honest treats.
I love creating new dishes to give you the most personable and creative touch tailored to your occasion/ event needs.
